Every year the Lake Almanor Basin goes from being a sleepy mountain home of about 5,000 year round citizens to a bustling 20,000+ visitors and second home owners over the 4th of July.
Reminiscent of days past, the beautiful town of Chester hosts the the quintessential small town 4th of July celebration. With pancake breakfasts, a 5K Fun Run, craft fair in Chester Park and the centerpiece Chester Main Street Parade the entire Basin celebrates the American dream.
The Parade begins at the lawns of Collins Pine Park and meanders down Main Street to the lush grasses of the Chester Meadow. Floats, clowns, classic cars, dancing children, horses, music and the happy expectations of a small town makes this a community event not to be missed.
