The ice and cold didn’t deter locals from turning out for the annual Christmas celebration Quincy Sparkle on Friday evening, Dec. 1. Both sides of Main Street were lined with families and friends eager to celebrate the holiday. Local businesses opened their doors with treats and early shopping opportunities while local organizations and nonprofits sold hot chocolate, cookies and more to raise money for their activities. Performers entertained the crowd, the light parade made two passes through town, Santa greeted youngsters and the young of heart and the tree was lit. Christmas is officially underway in Quincy. Following are a few photos from the festive evening.
