Chester 4th of July Fun Run

One mile route down historic Main Street!

The Almanor Recreation and Park District’s 43rd annual Chester 4th of July Fun Run will take place at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The one mile run/walk will start on the Collins Pine lawn and proceed down Chester’s historic Main Street to the finish at the Bidwell House.

Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt (first 400 registrants) and enjoy refreshments at the finish line. After the event, there will be a 4th of July Craft Fair at Chester Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a 4th of July Parade starting at 11 a.m. on Main Street. The Craft Fair is sponsored by the Chester Elks and the Parade is sponsored by the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce.

The one mile route down Main Street is open to participants of all ages and abilities, and adds to the excitement of the 4th of July celebration in town. The Fun Run is ARPD’s largest fundraising event and all proceeds benefit District programs and events, as well as capital improvement projects, with an emphasis on recreation, parks and trails.
