DESCRIPTION:The ice and cold didn’t deter locals from turning out for the annual Christmas celebration Quincy Sparkle on Friday evening\, Dec. 1. Both sides of Main Street were lined with families and friends eager to celebrate the holiday. Local businesses opened their doors with treats and early shopping opportunities while local organizations and nonprofits sold hot chocolate\, cookies and more to raise money for their activities. Performers entertained the crowd\, the light parade made two passes through town\, Santa greeted youngsters and the young of heart and the tree was lit. Christmas is officially underway in Quincy. DESCRIPTION:The Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce and the City of Portola are pleased to bring you is the Christmas in Old Town event. The event will be held on Friday\, December 1st from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Caboose parking lot in downtown Portola on Commercial Street. The festivities will include the “Golden Ticket” give-away for kids ages 3 to 14\, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus from 4-6:30pm\, the Old Town Marketplace\, bonfire\, caroling\, tree lighting\, light parade\, food\, drinks\, and much more for the whole family! \nEach child is given a Santa goody bag that contains Christmas items and two “Golden Tickets”. Each child keeps one ticket and puts the other in a jar in hopes of having their special number selected. When their number is called\, they get to choose a gift. Each new gift is valued at $25.00 or more! Last year we had bikes\, trikes\, skateboards\, scooters\, sport items\, toys\, books\, backpacks\, puzzles\, games\, and much\, much more. We don’t sell the Golden Tickets. They are free to any child ages 3 – 14 who attend the event.

SUMMARY:Pumpkin Patch Express
DESCRIPTION:Ride the train to get to the Pumpkin Patch (pumpkins extra price.) The trains will take visitors to the Pumpkin Patch where they can select their pumpkins for purchase. \nThis year’s Pumpkin Patch Express trains will be held October 21-22 and 28-29\, Saturdays and Sundays. The museum will open at 10 AM all four days. Trains will depart hourly from 1 PM to 5 PM for the Pumpkin Patch. \nOn Saturday nights\, our Super Spooky Night Trains will depart hourly between 7 PM and 9 PM. Gates close at 6 PM on Sunday and 9:30 PM on Saturday. \nThe “We Cook For You” food truck will be there again this year. \nAdmission is free for FRRS members. Non-member admission is $10 per carload\, or $5 with the donation of 3 non-perishable canned goods for EPCAN – Portola’s Food Bank. \n
