DESCRIPTION:The ice and cold didn’t deter locals from turning out for the annual Christmas celebration Quincy Sparkle on Friday evening\, Dec. 1. Both sides of Main Street were lined with families and friends eager to celebrate the holiday. Local businesses opened their doors with treats and early shopping opportunities while local organizations and nonprofits sold hot chocolate\, cookies and more to raise money for their activities. Performers entertained the crowd\, the light parade made two passes through town\, Santa greeted youngsters and the young of heart and the tree was lit. Christmas is officially underway in Quincy. Following are a few photos from the festive evening.

DESCRIPTION:The Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce and the City of Portola are pleased to bring you is the Christmas in Old Town event. The event will be held on Friday\, December 1st from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Caboose parking lot in downtown Portola on Commercial Street. The festivities will include the “Golden Ticket” give-away for kids ages 3 to 14\, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus from 4-6:30pm\, the Old Town Marketplace\, bonfire\, caroling\, tree lighting\, light parade\, food\, drinks\, and much more for the whole family! \nEach child is given a Santa goody bag that contains Christmas items and two “Golden Tickets”. Each child keeps one ticket and puts the other in a jar in hopes of having their special number selected. When their number is called\, they get to choose a gift. Each new gift is valued at $25.00 or more! Last year we had bikes\, trikes\, skateboards\, scooters\, sport items\, toys\, books\, backpacks\, puzzles\, games\, and much\, much more. We don’t sell the Golden Tickets. They are free to any child ages 3 – 14 who attend the event.

DESCRIPTION:Community members and visitors from far and wide will join together Saturday on Nov. 25  at 6 p.m. for the 20th annual Taylorsville Lights Parade and festivities. This event has support from the entire community of Taylorsville and surrounding area. \nDecorated floats will parade through the town starting at the Indian Valley Museum. The parade begins at 6 p.m. Be sure to get your entry form submitted if you wish to enter a float in the parade. \nTrophy awards will be presented to the 1st\, 2nd and 3rd place winners at the end of the parade. Be sure to stay for the award ceremony. \nLocal businesses will be open into the evening and all are welcome to stay longer after the parade at the Taylorsville Tavern.

DESCRIPTION:Beer\, Music\, Food\, Fall Colors and FUN! \n1 – 5pm – Microbrew-Beer Tasting \n​The Mountain Harvest Beer Festival\, Plumas Arts’ primary fundraising event\, invites you to support local culture and community with a great collection of humanity\, another stellar collection of micro-brewed beers\, yummy food \, exciting  musical guests\, and a fun silent auction.  \nMountain Harvest revolves around one of the most impressive small town microbrew tastings you will find anywhere. \nFYI\, We will have some wine and hard seltzer  options for the tasting for more choices. \nEVENT ADMISSION: \n\nTASTING PASSES include event admission\, tasting 20+ beers and a few non beer options\, and a souvenir tasting glass for you to keep.\nTickets are $40. Purchase tickets in advance or at the gate the day.\nNON-TASTING EVENT ADMISSION for music\, food\, and silent auction is $10 at the gate (no outside alcohol allowed. Single beer and glass of wine can be purchased from Plumas Arts booth)​.
